FULL DESCRIPTION
Assurance of long term integrity and performance of mechanical equipment and performance of rotating and reciprocating machinery. The Rotating Technical Authority will act as the site focal point for all technical matters relating to his discipline and the Integrity Assurance process for mechanical and rotating equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical support and troubleshooting to Operations and Maintenance.
Support maintenance and operations staff in identifying and addressing equipment performance issues.
Participate and provide support to Maintenance during major equipment overhauls.
Long-term study/development work on facilities and verify the design integrity of work carried out by engineering contractors within discipline area, e.g. Turbines, Compressors, Pumps and equipment.
Focal point/authority for mechanical support contracts.
Perform root cause failure analysis and make recommendations to avoid future failures.
Ensure facilities are designed and operated in accordance with regulation, company requirements and standards.
Work closely with other Technical Authorities & discipline engineers embedded in the assets.
Continually identify internal and external best practices and drive integration and continuous improvement.
Produce and review procedures related to Rotating Equipment.
Provide mentoring and coaching to mechanical Engineers.
Sharing of knowledge from internal and external incidents and learnings.

EXPERIENCE
Previous experience as rotating equipment technical Authority in Oil and Gas project and operating environment.
Fully competent in all areas of plant rotating equipment, including gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, turbo-expanders, reciprocating engines, gearboxes, and machine ancillary components.
Fully competent in all areas of plant mechanical equipment, including valves, pumps and pump seals.
Capable of performing root-cause failure analyses on mechanical equipment.
Understanding of gas turbine control system.
Capable of diagnosing equipment vibration signatures.
Theoretical knowledge of turbine and compressor thermodynamics.
Capable of directing machinery alignments and understanding alignment data.
Good knowledge of machine lubrication theory and application.
Very good Knowledge of best practices, codes and regulations requirement related to rotating equipment.
Experience in dealing with rotating equipment system specification, design, procurement and commissioning.
Demonstrated experience and interest in the development, coaching and mentoring of mechanical Engineers.
Must be physically and mentally fit for working in a remote desert environment.
Very good interpersonal communication skills, both vertically and horizontally in the organisation.
Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel …… etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS
College/University degree standard – in mechanical engineering or equivalent
15 years’ experience in oil, gas or petrochemical industry
