Power Plant Commissioning Engineer JOB

Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to be involved on the Tambak Lorok Project, located at Semarang City, Central Java, Indonesia.

Power Plant – Commissioning Engineer duties and responsibilities will include the following:

Assure that the EPC contractor shall comply with all site HSSE rules and regulations.

Assure that the EPC contractor is timely prepared and correctly performs the testing. In addition to its preventive approach.

Assure early detection of any deviation to the contractor’s site commissioning process, as well as of any ‘noncompliance’ of the works or methods with the project,

The Engineer shall also make necessary efforts for causing the Contractor to prepare handover and Test Procedures to enable the Owner to achieve acceptance from the Owner as well as from the off taker and involved Authorities.

Ensure the Contractor prepares start-up, commissioning, and test procedures in accordance with the Project Documents as well as the fuel supplier’s and electricity off-taker’s technical requirements. Review and provide comments to the Owner with respect to such procedures, The Engineer shall also proactively assist the Owner in meeting its obligation under the Contract for the provision of fuel, and electrical load and other prerequisites; Review adequacy of manpower and other resources deployed by Contractor

Supervise and witness on behalf of and under the direction of the Owner the plant start-up, commissioning and Performance, Reliability and Plant Dependable Capacity tests, including checking suitability of instrumentation and advising on commissioning test results, Monitor recording and maintenance of daily commissioning log sheets

Review the documentation submitted by the Contractor (including  O&M manuals / documents which  also include the review by the Owner’s  O&M group) and respond to ensure that the documentation correctly reflects the commissioning, testing and operational requirements of the Owner; Review of the procedures for acceptance and performance tests for compliance with  contractual requirements.

Review and provide comments / approval to the Owner with respect to the Contract Performance, Reliability, Plant Dependable Capacity, and other performance test results

Assist the Owner in responding to any documentary requirements or questions regarding the performance test results.

Manage and control the punch list and issue punch list items.

Tight supervision related to adjustments in hardware and software settings, and modifications in the DCS during start-up up till COD. The Engineer will review the level of automation of the Plant and make sure the equipment redundancy is adequate.

Supervise the Reliability Run and ensure that it is completed successfully by the Contractor in accordance with the procedures.

Assist Owner with handover such as judgement on plant acceptance, verification of Project documents and assistance in settlement negotiations related to penalties and/ or claims.

Coordinate with ONE and/or third parties with regard to Grid interface, e.g. initial back-feed, and synchronization with certification process.

The engineer shall perform weekly meetings with the Contractor with proper MOM’s.

Having at least a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or related engineering with minimum 10 years of experience in commissioning discipline in any type of Thermal / CCGT Power Plant with minimum rating of 500 MW.

Proven experience and extensive knowledge in Installation, Erection, Testing & Troubleshooting of Mechanical Equipment.

Commissioning knowledge is also adequate

English language is mandatory

  • Having at least a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or related engineering with minimum 10 years of experience in commissioning discipline in any type of Thermal / CCGT Power Plant with minimum rating of 500 MW.
  • Proven experience and extensive knowledge in Installation, Erection, Testing & Troubleshooting of Mechanical Equipments.
  • Commissioning knowledge is also adequate
