Located out of our Sherwood Park office, the individual in the Field Operator role will report to the Senior Operations Technician and the Supervisor, Pipeline Field Operations for the Boreal/Cold Lake/Corridor/Polaris Pipeline systems.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

•    Responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient movement of petroleum products within the crude oil and condensate pipeline systems
•    Perform operational tasks such as equipment integrity checks, product quality control verification and measurement accuracy with month-end cutoff and custody transfer ticketing
•    Conduct regular site visits to maintain assets in a safe, reliable operating condition, and maintain good housekeeping
•    Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, policies and procedures
•    Responsible for weekly and monthly compliance checks of pump station sites and mainline block valves.
•    Accountable for monthly measurement (meter proving, month-end reporting)
•    Participate in facility audits and inspections
•    Execute assigned projects to plan (budget, quality and schedule)
•    Ensure Inter Pipeline’s pigging practices and schedules are followed
•    Participate in the district on-call rotation as assigned
 

Education, Skills & Experience

•    High School diploma or equivalent GED 
•    Preference will be given to candidates with a related trade certification
•    Related pipeline field operations experience
•    Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 would be a definite asset)
•    Current H2S Alive, TDG and First Aid certification are also an asset.

Hours: Monday- Thursday 10 hour shifts 

As this position is identified as safety and security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol and criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.
