Process / Tank Farm Operator – Prince George, British Columbia, Canada

The Opportunity

Tidewater has an immediate opening for both a Process Operator and a Tank Farm Operator. These are full-time positions based in Prince George, BC. The Process Operator and Tank Farm Operator are responsible for the safe operation for the Tidewater Prince George Refinery. This includes the operation of rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, pressure vessels and control panel consoles. Additionally, these roles are responsible for the monitoring and documentation of daily activities. These roles work with other process operators and various other Refinery Departments. These are full-time positions that will work a rotating shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform safe operations to meet production targets, by monitoring process variables & equipment parameters to identify abnormal conditions and carry out appropriate changes. If work requests are required, ensure proper coding and adequate detail
• Prepare plant equipment for maintenance, as well as issue work permits and ensure their safe completion
• Complete and log all relevant actions as per Daily Orders, daily maintenance schedule, STP, etc. by requested date. This includes routine maintenance and housekeeping duties
• Complete required operator and general employee training and ensure allocated training hours are met
• Communicate scheduling adjustments to the Shift Supervisor in a timely manner
• Act as First Response in handling of emergency situations as needed

Ideal Candidate

Minimum Qualifications:
• Grade 12 Diploma
• 4th Class Steam Certificate
• 3rd Class Steam Certificate is considered an asset
• Valid safety certificates (Confined Spaced Entry, Fall Protection, H2S Alive)

Experience:
• 1 – 5 years working in the Oil and Gas industry
• Previous Operating experience in a Refinery or Upgrader is considered an asset
• Experience with operating utilities or process equipment is considered an asset

• Ability to progress and complete more complex skills and tasks as experience is developed.
